Editorial policy

This page explains how content on MuscleOnGLP is researched, written, checked, and corrected. It is published by Purplelink LLC and applies to every article, calculator, research digest, and paid guide on this site.

1. Scope and standard of care

MuscleOnGLP covers one subject: preserving lean mass while losing weight on GLP-1 medications. We treat this as health information, which means we hold it to a higher standard than general lifestyle writing. We would rather publish fewer pages that are properly sourced than more pages that are not.

2. We are not clinicians

Our content is not written or medically reviewed by physicians, dietitians, or licensed trainers. We are researchers and writers who read the primary literature. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and we publish no dosing, titration, or sourcing guidance for any medication. Where a question is clinical, we say so and direct you to your prescribing clinician. This is stated in full in our Terms of Service.

3. How we choose sources

We prefer, in this order: systematic reviews and meta-analyses; randomized controlled trials and their pre-registered extensions; peer-reviewed narrative reviews; and official regulatory or trial-registry documents. We use primary sources rather than press releases or secondary coverage. Where the evidence is weak, contested, or extrapolated from a non-GLP-1 population, we say that in the text rather than rounding it up to certainty.

4. Every claim is cited

Factual claims carry an inline citation to a specific, linked source. We do not cite a study for something it did not measure. Every source we rely on across the site is collected in our evidence library, which you can browse and search. If a claim on this site is not traceable to a source, treat that as a bug and tell us.

5. Estimates and calculators

Our calculators produce population-based estimates, not measurements of your body. Each one documents the published equation or trial range it is built on, and states its limits in plain language on the same page. Predictive equations carry individual error, and modeled projections are illustrative. We label them as such rather than presenting them as results.

6. Use of automated tools

We use automated and AI-assisted tools in parts of our production process, including drafting, summarizing, and producing short-form video voiceovers. We disclose this rather than hide it. Automated output is not published unchecked: sources are verified against the original papers, and numbers and citations are reviewed by a person before publication. Responsibility for everything published here rests with Purplelink LLC, not with any tool. This mirrors section 3 of our Terms of Service.

7. Independence, advertising, and affiliate links

No advertiser, manufacturer, or affiliate partner has any input into what we cover or what we conclude, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for a favourable finding. Some pages carry third-party display advertising and a small number contain Amazon affiliate links, disclosed where they appear. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. A product being linked is a convenience, not a requirement, and never a clinical recommendation. We are not affiliated with Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any medication manufacturer.

8. Reviews and testimonials

We publish reviews only from confirmed purchasers, with their consent, and we do not invent, incentivize, or edit them for sentiment. We do not display aggregate ratings we cannot substantiate. This follows the FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, 16 CFR Part 465.

9. Updates and corrections

Evidence moves, and we would rather be corrected than be consistent. If you find an error, email ben@purplelink.llc with the page and, if possible, the source. Our practice:

  • Clear factual errors are fixed promptly once verified.
  • Corrections that change the meaning of a recommendation are noted on the page rather than edited away silently.
  • Typographical and formatting fixes are made without a note.
  • When new research changes the picture, we update the affected pages rather than leaving stale claims in place.

10. Contact
