About MuscleOnGLP

MuscleOnGLP is a publication about one narrow, under-served question: how do you keep your muscle while you lose weight on a GLP-1 medication?

Why this site exists

GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide work. The problem is what comes off with the fat. Reviews of the trial data put lean mass at roughly 15 to 40 percent of the weight lost, and the SURMOUNT-1 DXA substudy measured about 26 percent of tirzepatide weight loss as lean mass. Most consumer advice on this topic is recycled, unsourced, or written for people who are not dealing with a suppressed appetite and dose-escalation side effects.

We write for that gap. Every recommendation on this site traces to a specific peer-reviewed source, and you can check every one of them in our evidence library.

Who publishes this

MuscleOnGLP is published by Purplelink LLC, a United States limited liability company. Purplelink LLC is responsible for the content on this site, and is the party you are dealing with if you buy a guide or contact us. You can reach a human at ben@purplelink.llc, and our full details are on the contact page.

What we are not

This is the most important section on the page. MuscleOnGLP is not written by clinicians. We are not doctors, dietitians, or personal trainers, and nothing here is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. We do not provide any guidance on obtaining, dosing, titrating, or sourcing any medication.

What we do is read the primary literature carefully, cite it transparently, and translate it into practical steps. That is a research and writing job, not a clinical one. Decisions about your medication and your health belong to you and your prescribing clinician. Please read our full Terms of Service and medical disclaimer.

How our content is made

We have a written editorial policy covering how we choose sources, how we cite them, where automated tools are used in drafting, how we review before publishing, and how we handle corrections. If you find an error, we want to hear about it and we will fix it.

How we are funded

We think you should know exactly how a health publication makes its money, so here it is in full:

  • Paid guides. We sell a complete handbook and a set of shorter mini-guides. These are one-time purchases with no subscription.
  • Affiliate links. A small number of pages link to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. These links are disclosed on the pages where they appear, and a product being linked does not mean it is necessary.
  • Advertising. Some pages may carry third-party display advertising. Advertisers have no input into what we publish.

No company, manufacturer, or advertiser pays us to cover a topic or reach a conclusion. We are not affiliated with Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any medication manufacturer.

What you will find here

  • Articles on muscle, protein, training, and the maintenance phase, each cited.
  • Free calculators for protein targets, muscle-loss risk, and weight regain after stopping.
  • Weekly research digests summarizing new peer-reviewed work.
  • The evidence library, a browsable index of every study we cite.
